Are my zoas dead?

I traded for some zoas on Sunday. They were closed when the trader brought them over. I dipped them in an iodine based solution (Seachem Reef Dip, I think) for about 8 minutes. They still have not opened up. This is in a tank that has other happy zoas, SPS, etc.

We're going on 5 days now. What should I think? Are they dead? How can you tell?

Not necessarily. I have had zoas stay closed for a couple of weeks and then reopen and look just fine. But again, pictures would help.

my purple deaths just opened up yesterday, they have been in the tank for 2 weeks.

They're smaller than my other zoas, and basically colorless (yellow, I guess?). Are these Zoas?

PS No, I didn't pay for them, and I didn't give a lot on the trade so I don't feel too bad, I guess :lol:

They are zoas and they look like they will be fine. I would say they will color up better since they have been closed for some time and stressed.

Some polyps can close up for MONTHS, that's no exageration either.

yeah they will do that; they look ok, just make sure they have proper lighting and water conditions; and feed them
