Ive been battling these things for a while. Do they pose a real threat? Ive used fwe but I really dont like putting it in my tank. And I know of all the fish that are supposed to eat them but dont really want to add another fish right now. Ive never saw a threat from them but I just dont like to see them. thoughts

They're mostly a nuisance unless you get so many that they cover your corals & keep them from getting light.

I'm with SushiGirl!!
I've had them for well over 18mos myself. I was freaked out at first (afraid my tank would crash) I sucked up as many as I could. Bought FWE.. but was too scared to use it. I would only see them on my glass. Recently I only see one or two on the glass every so often. I'm sure there are more.. but nothing like they use to be. I never see them on my corals.

My experience has been that if you don't treat them or have a natural predator in your tank, they will multiply and I think you will eventually have a problem. Here is what my tank looked like when I finally realized what I had...

I was able to treat them with FWE but they always came back. I found that the only way I could truly rid myself of them was to remove most of my rock and then treat the tank and treat the rock separately where I had good flow and good contact with anywhere they could hide. Just treating the tank wasn't working for me because there were low flow areas of my tank where the chemical would not reach. I think they were also down in the sand so I ended up stirring up my shallow sandbed as well. But I finally got them! :blown:

Good luck!

Oh my Word Patrick!! Soooo sorry!!!
Mine don't look like that.. maybe I don't have "red" flatworms then...??

Mine have never been that bad. I think I know what happened. I once had a 6 line but he killed a goby I added so I gave him away. I guess he was doing a good job because I never saw these things until I got rid of him.
