I've never had them personally but those sure do look like bite marks I've seen on multiple threads. I believe standard protocol is to dip /quarantine every acro to starve them out of the DT.. I know certain wrasse eat them along with other fish when blown into the water column with a turkey baster or similar..

Get some bayer for weekly dips and start a QT to let the AEFW in your display tank starve to death. If you have a lot of Acro's you need to dip them all and QT them.

To be honest the worst part is getting over that you have them and setting yourself up for the dipping process. The most foolproof way is to set up a QT tank for all acropora. When removing the acros you will have to either chip off , kalk paste, or epoxy over any encrusted growth on the rockwork to ensure the DT is acro free. I've read about some reported successes just dipping all the acros but leaving them in the DT. You still have to eliminate the encrusting growth.

I'm using the Bayer dip for 8 consecutive weeks while the DT remains fallow. It seemed for every reported success with CoralRX and Revive killing them there was someone else saying it didn't in their case. I couldn't find anybody that said bayer didn't work. I'm using 20ml per cup of tank water for 15 minutes. Reports for dosages and times varied wildly so I picked a slightly stronger dosage and longer time than average but nowhere near the extremes I've read. After dipping in the bayer solution I move the corals to a bucket of tank water with vigorous flow for 15 minutes, then a 3rd bucket for five more minutes. Standard procedure is one rinse but I'm still a bit nervous about using a pesticide. After 3 dips I have seen no negative reactions from any of my corals or other livestock. Now that I have the corals isolated it takes less than an hour to pull the corals, dip them, and return them to the tank.

Yes they are.

TY, i guess ill start my qt ASAP. As well as get some Bayer to dip the crap out of them. I was also looking into KZ Flatworm Stop. any experience with it?

I am in the habit of using 20mL/cup and haven't had a frag die from it yet.

Amazingly, I once forgot that I had a coral in a dip (Jedi Mind Trick). I left it in a 20mL/cup solution FOR AN HOUR lol. It's still alive and is making a comeback. (It was definitely NOT happy though).

Don't bother with Flatworm stop. Either go with Bayer or a reef specific product like "RPS all out" both will work. Some people have had success to Flatworm stop but it seems to be rather limited to those with extensive KZ experience. Be careful with all dips and err on the side of caution with dosage amount just because 1 person got with with Xml doesn't mean your coral will be able to tolerate it.

Ty guys im doing 20ml per cup. Lets hope it works. I havent seen any other sps with bite marks or FW but better to just dip them all just in case..

start out on the mellow side 20ml per cup is not that. I believe 10ml per cup is the standard but you may want to double check some of the bayer threads

If you only have small frags or movable colonies a once a week dip (I did 6 days with revive for 8 weeks) should be easiest.
