Are these Pyram Snails?

Just found these badboys surrounding my Astrea snail, they seem to be feeding off it. I have seen them cruising around before and during the daylight hours, these pics where taken with lights on. I have two clams and both seem very happy and I have never seen these snails anywhere near the clams for as long as I have had them which is going on 3 months now. So are these the dreaded Pyrams then?

yes you need to remove them manually every other day. If not they will kill your snails. If you keep on them they probably will not harm the clams.

I have the exact same problem. I have to remove the snails and brush the little snails off of them. So far none have gone near a clam (knock wood).

We are upgrading to a 180 and I'm worried about these buggers making it to that tank when we consolidate. Is there a way to move fish, corals, clams, without moving the pyram's? (sorry to highjack!)

See them trying to insert their proboscises into the flesh of the snail? Left unchecked they will kill the snail in a short time. Best thing to when clean snails and clam of them is to place them into a container to discard them.

ALSO! Be sure to check for any whitish looking eggsacs around the scutes of the clam shell and around your snails. These buggers left unchecked can reproduce rapidly.
