i have worms in my tank that are red and they have little white spikes all along there sides are these the dredded red worms? If so why are they only in my anemone and clown tank and not my reef tank. Is it because I have a wrasse im my reef tank? Do wrasses eat red worms if that is what they are?

Sonds like red bristle worms. They don't seem to bother my FOWLR but I don't know about the reef stuff.

Do a search and you will probably find both opinnions.

My advice would be to watch your corals carefully for any damage, there are some traps available to catch them.

Oh..don't touch them either...those spines will hurt.

ok

ok

ok thanks for your help. i dont have any corals in my anemone and clown tank and thats where they are so i dont think they can hurt anything but its just that they are every where. Also the spines look fuzzy r u shure they will hurt.

Bristleworms are valuable detrivores. Yes, they will sting you very painfully if you touch them. Wear gloves when handling your rocks where you have bristleworms. They will not, however, hurt your corals or anemones. They occasionally give a fish a faceful of spines if it bites one, but these drop off after a day. My firefish and one of my 10 inch bristleworms have an occasional dispute about his sleeping hole, and he ends up with a beard, but it goes, and it doesn't stop him doing it again.

Thanks for your help everybody but how come I dont have any in my reef tank and just my clown and anemone tank? Also these arnt any where close to 10 inches the big ones are about an inch.

Move a couple over---use tweezers gently. It only takes 2, any two, as I'm pretty sure they're hermaphroditic.
