These say they are for drains, are they safe for tank use?

I am thinking about connecting my new sumps with these.

If its not for potable water I would not use it.

Odds are its OK but IME its not worth risking unless you can absolutely confirm it.

I used some of the similar material trying to quiet my skimmer and it really messed stuff up. Nothing visible or something I could test but my skimmer didn't work well for a long time after that (weeks). It definitely leached something into the water.... Didn't have many corals at the time so don't know if it would have affected them.

i use this on my skimmer and my skimmer works fine, corals are happy, fish are happy, and im happy lol. as far as i see its safe. im not too sure how your going to use it but if its going to be submerged under water i wouldnt use it due to the metal rings. in my system i use it on my skimmers spout but i removed the rings before hand since it will be in the water. good luck

I used to have one of those clamps on the return pump, but the metal eventually rusted so I pulled it out. There's plastic clamps you can use that won't mess up the water, or in my case, a heavy duty rubber band!
