Are Tiger Pistol Shrimp seasonal?

Korrine

You could get a ticket!!
Are Tiger Pistol Shrimp seasonal or hard to find? I see there is one listed in Collector's Corner right now, however I'm not ready for one right this minute. Will be in a month or so.

Also, do you ever have them available with a yellow watchman goby??

Thank you,

Korrine

Korrine,

Thank you for your inquiry. The Tiger Pistol Shrimp is commonly found in the wild on coral and oyster reefs as well as seagrass flats. However, during the colder months collection of all species can be lessened due to severe weather conditions.

We do occasionally offer Pistol Shrimp along with Gobies in our Diver’s Den. We recommend signing up for our email alerts or RSS feed as these will notify you daily of new items added. Please contact us with any other questions or concerns.

ok thank you.

In your opinion, is it relatively easy to pair them? I read about putting a pvc pipe in the sand and after acclimation putting the goby and shrimp into the pipe to ensure they find eachother. What do you think of that?

Korrine,

Thank you for your reply. It is relatively easy to pair them and not much should need to be done once introduced to the aquarium. If you feel that they are not pairing up, you can certainly try the method you described using PVC pipe. If we can be of any further assistance, please feel free to contact us.
