im starting this because i would like to know how hard core you are. list a few things you have done in the name of reefing.

i drive out of state for corals you can get local.
i have a small holding tank at the shop here for corals i get in on shippments.
i say HI to the tank before my wife (sorry Lissa) when i get home.
i hit almost every east side LFS twice a week looking for nice stuff.
every other word out of my mouth is "fish" or "coral"

Or buying that skimmer that has a bigger water volume than most of our tanks. Do you still have a picture?

I forgot about that.... Its almost that time of the year again.

I shop the $9.99-$29.99 section of pets inc like I am shopping for kids toys at goodwill

I get 5 hours of sleep a night as I wait up for my new candy to open up it's tents so I can feed it and nurse it back to health

I spent the same about of money on my sunpod trying to reproduce sunlight as I did to tint my windows to keep the sun out

I have a $300 ro for my house, yet my fish swim in distilled purified water from the store.

I spent $20.00 in gas to get a $29.99 Koralia "yesterday, thanks paul" *LOL*!!!

I spent $35.00 for sand when I have a wash full of 1/4 mile away

The 20lbs of rock in my tank cost more than the ton I just purchased for landscaping

SKIMMER

SKIMMER

SHOOT !! sorry

I have been to every LFS (saltwater) in both Phoenix and Tucson in one day...On more than one occassion.

My family thinks I'm strange because I stare at my tanks.

I spend more on saltwater than I do on my dogs and cats

I lie about having new fish and corals (no they were there!)

I too buy from all over the U.S., last piece from Green Bay Wisc.

Here's all I can think of:

* We (crazy hubby and I) drove to the L.A. area and back in one day to cherry pick 150lbs of live rock. Left at 5AM, got home at 6:30PM. We also drove to Sierra Vista to get a chiller & pump.

* My canopy has a gas pedal and a horn

* We mixed concrete in the living room to level the floor/repair a foundation crack for the tank

* The house has two RO/DI units

* Because of setting up the tank, we have purchased a new chop saw, drill press, biscuit joiner, router & cordless dremel w/lots of diamond bits, not to mention all the camera equipment

* We ran an electrical subpanel for only the tank.

* I buy latex gloves and safety goggles in bulk at Sams Club, order super glue and spray foam by the case

* I spend hours every 6-8 months with a food processor and a whole lot of stinky ingredients making gourmet fish food and stuffing it in to little ice cube trays.

* There was a $1500 charge on my credit card from Reeftopia (Ok, that was a group order)

lol, I am not hard core at all

Yes......I am HARDCORE.

I will absolutely be late or even miss work if my tank needs something. Gave up house cleaning, cooking, the yard and all that stuff.

I have dropped everything I was doing and been out the door in 5 minutes to help another reefer in need.

I have only missed 2 FRAG meetings in the past 3 years. One was a family reunion I had no control over the dates and the other was reef related.

I don't take long vacations away from the tanks.

I have cried over the loss of a crab and have buried a Lawnmower Blenny and Hawaiian Wrasse.

I test, test, and test some more!!!!

I check my tanks first thing in the morning and last thing at night. I can't count how many times in between.

I am an avid RC reader in most Forums.

Skimmate don't stink. ;)

OH........and I have spent some bucks too.

PSsssss....Whats that guys name on the sofa in the other room???
