i was actually thinking about this the other day, why am I so obsessed with getting more corals and making my system better and bigger, is reefing an addiction or hobby lol!

I totally agree! I will not be adding any new acros for a very long time. I have never had aefw and dont plan on getting any soon. There is only one sure fire way of not getting the aefw's and that is "new coral abstinence"

I was addicted until Katrina killed all my stuff. Now, this time I vow to limit numbers of acros. Also I want some VERY full colones in my tank. I want my tank to look real nice, NOT be a collection of 1' colored sticks covring the whole rock structure. Don't even try to give me a 1/2" frag this time. Hell, I wouldn't mind my tank if it only consisted of 1/2 the reef covered in green slimer, and the other half covered with a orange cap. I had a dozen different acro sp. in my 30 gallon tank last time, and it stlll looked sad because most of them were 1/2" frags.

i def feel you guys, not on such a scale but on the reef to income ratio, the reef/girlfriend time issues and the fact im now out of roomin my 65 and am getting a 120. imtrying to swear off buying frags but every thursday i work at a LFS from 9 am to 9pm and i basicly look at the tanks the whole time discovering new cool corals. i get on these collecting kicks and buy all the cool stuff i can get my hands on. now i have no money for text books because i just bought new lights for the 120. it never ends.
i need help....too bad this is the last place ill find it.

reef daddy,your gonna love those corals-liveaquaria really impressed me with my order from them-definitly not what i was expecting-but they are one of the few places that carry ORA corals so i took a chance-now i hope they survive two weeks in my nano before going in my reef(already dealt with the monti-nudis)-no way do i want the AEFW!

HI MY NAME IS MATT AND I AM A ADDICTED TO BUYING NEW SPS.
but the good thing is that I work at a LFS and I see a lot of coral so some stuff you see over and over again. also for a fix I tar apart one of there tank and reduce there tank I have 2,160 g of reef to play with and we get in so many new coral in every week it is cool. that is they way I deal with my problem.

Dumping new coral in your tank with no QT or at least a dip is like shooting up with a rusty old needle you found in the trash can... WHY WOULD YOU? you just spent $300 on coral, WHY WHY WHY would you not at least dip them before adding them??????????

that being said I am a coral addict too... I keep moving my frags in my 20G tank to find that one more spot! That tank was supose to be for just 5 or 6 really nice pieces for me to grow out for my future large tank. I always dip my new corals though... I dont care if they are from the president himself... it gets dipped. If I find a single AEFW it gets tossed... PM or $5 frag, does not matter, the dips are not 100% & I'm not into taking chances with my investment.

No No No I dip interceptor for 6 hours then FWE at 3x dose. My concern is Flat worms since I really don't have anything 100% effective against them. What are you using for AEFW?

HAHA I've always got the "just one more" bug! I REALLY hope it stops after I get my red table.

I'm using levamisol for the flatworms. Its only like 98% effective though, so if a frag has them I toss it just incase. You can combine it with interceptor too to treat both in one dip. I've also herd betadine works 100%. Some people from my local club will be trying it out soon so we'll see.

I am an addict...I just set up my 50 about 5 months ago and now I am moving up to a 110, cause I need more room...LOL...I will be done after this because, I live in an apartment and 110 is the biggest i can go.
