Are you ever done stocking? Are you addicted?

I am addicted and yet maybe I am not. I will let other addicts judge me for what I am. I have three identically setup tanks but only two of them have coral in them at this time. The thing is each of those two only have a single species of coral in them. The third has been empty and waiting for me to fall in love with another type of coral and start adding to it for three years now. That might not seem like addiction but you see with those other two tanks anytime I would come across the species housed in them I would have to buy them if I could track where they came from. Price and size were of no concern. So I have gotten good deals and then I have been ripped off but the thing is I don't care.

That to me is an addiction, not an addiction of choice or variety or just excess but addiction of a single solitary coral. Well two types of coral at this type, maybe a third in the future. :)

Addiction comes in many forms I think, not just one of more more more.

I wished I could say I am done. The problem for someone like myself that has lost so much to the AEFW is that my tank now looks empty. If I could get my hands in another 50-60 clean frags, I would say I am done. Until then, the hunt goes on.............

I feel ya...I overstocked my old system so much...that I had to upgrade, I had so many frags everywhere, inlcuding a row in front of the glass along the front. LOL

I keep telling myself that I'm not gonna do that again. But there are SO many corals out there that I wan't....it never ends

I'm not an addict.

I'm not an addict.

I'm not a reefaholic.
I'm not a reefaholic.
I'm not a reefaholic.

I don't even have a tank! My little brother has a 46 gallon tank setup in our family room.

I thought it needed a better skimmer, and it got it.
I thought it needed a sump, and it got it.
I thought it needed a UV filter, and it got it.
I thought it needed more corals, and it got it.
I thought it needed more corals, and it got it.
I thought it needed more corals, and it got it.
I thought it needed more corals, and it got it.
I thought it needed more corals, and it got it.
...
I thought it needed more corals, and it got it.

I'm saving up for a chiller and bigger tank.

I'm not a reefaholic.
I'm not a reefaholic.

Can somebody please help me, even though I'm not addicted?

LOL

You have way more slef control than me! What are the lucky 2 types?

I believe this was a question directed to me, if not my apologies for stepping on someone elses toes. Tank one houses Original Purple Monster: Acropora sp. The second tank houses Original Oregon Tort: Acropora sp.

So while my addiction if it is that doesn't spread far and wide on variety the cost to keep me happy and sane about the tank is anything but happy with my budget and bank account.

Cost isn't what started my obsession with theses species. In one case it wasn't color or looks either. The fact of the matter is I don't like the Purple Monster that much but my husband was in love with it since the day he saw it in late 95'. The deep rich completely hypnotic color of the Oregon Tort on the other hand has my heart. There is much more to my reefing story that is too personal to go into but suffice to say I will continue to buy PM and OTs until the day I die. Maybe one day a third coral will catch my heart and be added to my home.

um... let's see?

When you spend in increments of $2000.00 or more on a frequent basis, does that consider one as an addict????

If so, I am addicted.........

Man I'm so addicted as well. I cannot stop buying frags and small colonies. My tank is getting pretty packed. Yet I seem to always find room for that little extra special frag.

I'm thinking of starting a new set up, not big just maybe another 70 or 80g hooked up to my existing system and stocked with just 2 or 3 acropora species(probably a combo of tables with stags) and let them grow!
