Are you suppose to QT horses?

We have a QT that we use for our 90gal when we purchase new fish, but what about seahorses?

Are you suppose to QT them the same way as you do fish for 30 days prior to adding them into their main tank.

We set a 40gal for just seahorses and so far we had it cycle for 1 month, there is 60lbs LS and 40lbs LR and we are looking to purchase 2 Redi, 2 Erectus & 2 Kuda

Ideally yes you would QT any animal before it goes into the established system. If you are buying captive bred (and in Florida I would, there are a few local-ish breeders, see seahorsesource.com for one) directly from a breeder (who knows the history of the fish) then the need to QT is somewhat lessened, but I would still QT, probably for less time.

The other pickle presented by your post (ooh I get extra points for alliteration) is that keeping multiple species in one tank (or a connected system) is discouraged. SH keepers in the past who have mixed species have been met with losses of seahorses. The running theory is that different species have different innate and acquired immunity to different pathogens. Mixing species exposes them to pathogens (viral, bacterial, still unknown) that they do not have immunity too and tends to cause disease. Best thing to do is to not mix species.

A few people have done it without disaster and hopefully one will pipe up here. It is something that you need to know all the facets of before attempting.
