ARGH! Fish jumped to it's death!

When I came back from work today, I couldn't find "Big Clownfish". I figured maybe she's hiding, which is highly unusual. When my wife came home I told her and after she let out a horrified gasp, I saw Big Clownfish on the carpet, mostly dried up (jumped last night maybe?)

I hardly ever look behind the tank. And Sandy was saying "How could you not see it?!" So I said "Well, from the right side of the tank, where the light switches are, I can see that there is a paper towel roll fallen back there and it's blocking my view to where ... uh ... oh..." and then the mystery of the Royal Gramma that I bought a year (A YEAR) ago was suddenly solved.

I think I need to build a back for my canopy. :(
An egg crate over the top would work too, but I think it would block too much of that light that I pay so much for.

Argh... I can't believe it.

Sorry to hear that.

Last year I found my ocellaris clown on the floor when I was back from vacation. It was her 4th attempt. I rescued her from overflow box three times. She is wild caught and always afraid of my hands. There was no threatening tankmate either. Still don't know why she jumped.

Sounds like Nemo...

that's crazy sad....

strange, none of my fish have ever jumped.

you could easily get a temp. resistant acrylic thin sheet.. fairly cheap at HomeDepot to cover your top... but then again, my top open area is smaller...

not sure if this is harmful to O2 recycling whatever... if you have a sump, it shouldn't matter.. i thinkst... anyone have better knowledge on this?
