AriMiko's 300DD Upgrade

Quick update.... Tank is currently cycled and I added a few fish from my holding tanks. I added my longnose hawk, purple firefish and 2 clownfish. I also did some more work in the sump area with the wiring. Here are a few more aquascape shots.

Update time...I have light and fish

I added a Marinepure BioBlock to my sump which is the 8" x 8" x 4" model, supposedly it has 23,000 Sq ft of surface area. I don't know how that is possible but I decided to give it a shot lol

I built a box to cover my diy led/t5 lighting system out of stainless steel look alike formica and painted the inside white. This will be suspended from the ceiling above the tank.

Here is the lighting system which consist of 60 royal blues, 36 cool whites, 20 blues, 4 neutral whites, 2 greens and 2 reds. All leds are the cree 3 watt leds which total out at 120 leds. I also added two 60" T5's , 1 Aquablue, 1 Figi purple and two 48" T5's which are the blue plus.

I now have the light fixture mounted above the tank and powered up. I have not put the T5 bulbs in yet.

I also added a few fish, a nice school of Chromis....

I took some better pictures with my dslr instead of the iphone lol. The last pictures I posted of the tank I didn't realize I did not have all LEDs on and it was giving a rainbow effect. Here are some new pics with all LEDs lit and the T5's along with some fish shots.

Just set up my MTC Pro Cal reactor. I'm going to let it run for a few days with no co2 injection to get all the air out. I transferred some corals but didn't go to crazy. I am thinking of adding some more rock behind the current aquascape to give the fish more areas to hide and sleep. Whatever rock I add will not be viewable from the front so it will keep the front view the same.

Great job with your rock work............ Love it

That's going to make for some interesting and impressive grow outs when your SPS start growing out.

Look forward to seeing future updates...

Time for a update and this time it has water

I have had the tank running now for a week and a half and I've been dosing Microbacter7 daily along with 2 raw shrimp in a filter bag. I am past the ammonia part of the cycle and my nitrites are peaking up. The sump is all plumbed in through a reeflo dart pump. My refugium is also plumbed in through a glass holes over flow box and overflowing back into the skimmer area of the sump. I have my skimmer in place but I am not running it yet till after the cycle is complete.

A few FTS's for you....

I installed 2 eye hooks to hang my lighting fixture from when the time comes.

The return area with the manifold for carbon, gfo and uv sterilizer. I also added a valve for whenever I need to take water from the tank for either water changes or to fill up a bag or bucket for frag dipping

Skimmer area with the fuge overflowing and the uv sterilizer.

I got around to take some new pictures of the tank. They aren't the best pictures but for now they will do. I will spend some more time another day and take better ones when I get a chance. The tank is being stocked back up with my coral and I'm starting to get my fish stocked up also. Here are some fish pictures for now.....
