ARO ballast in Canopy

Hey guys, quick question. I am setting up my lights and reflectors in my canopy. I bought just about everything slightly used, but also stuff in progress. The canopy that the guy made makes it hard to put the aro ballast for my VHO's on the outside unless i go get more wire and connectors. So I was wondering if it is ok to put the ballast on the inside of the canopy covered by the huge (PFO I believe) reflector. Is it a good idea or is that going to cause a fire.
Thanks Doug

Bad idea, not so much because of fire,
but inside the canopy is typically hot and humid, bad conditions for a ballast, it will also typically add heat to the tank.

oh ok, got it. I just broke out the dremel and made a slit so i can put it on the outside, thanks for the reply though.
