I thought I would dust off this forum and just post to see who all is still here. If you feel so inclined, please post a hello, tank update, etc. I'll start.

As I started putting more time into my tank, it has really started to show. Several of my corals which I thought were dead have come back, some looking really nice. I'm hoping if this continues I might have some frags of my own to trade some day. The only additions I have had in months is an upcoming order for Ricordia. It should be here this week.

WOW Paul your water is super clear.

The only additions I have had in months is an upcoming order for Ricordia. It should be here this week.

I was just getting ready to e-mail you and find out if you ever placed that order.
You'll have to let me know what you ended up with.

Tank is doing better than I expected after last months "problem".

Cliff notes for everybody but Mike. I've slowly been winning the battle on some type of leafy macro algae for several months. Last month it suddenly turned white/clear and started dying off all at once :thumbsup:
Unfortunately when it did it nuked the tank.
I actually had foam standing 3-4" high on the surface just from the agitation of the pumps. Lost all sps, clam and a couple softies but a massive water change saved the majority of the corals. The protein skimmer is still pulling a ton of crud out but everything looks happy again and I'm 95% algae free at least.

Jake is there anyway you could fix you collection cup with weldon?
Jim has a bunch of spare parts for various ASMs in the back of the shop and may have an extra cup. Alternately since he use to be a supplier he may know where to find one. Unfortunately he's on vacation until the middle of next week.:blown:

The economy seems to have been **** on this hobby. Seems natural for people to come and go but so far seems like we are just seeing people go. Hopefully sixliner will change that trend this fall.

Also, we need to talk Altpersona back into a tank. BTW, the Midas Blenny, Flame Angel, and Yellow Watchman Goby I got from AltP are all doing great. The one zoo polpy colored up nicely and is now 2 polyps. lol Was that one or two years ago?

I'm still here but have been somewhat overwhelmed with a number of things so my time is limited. The tank is doing good and I hope to make some changes in the near future as time allows.

Hey, I am located in Grayson KY and work in Cross Lanes,WV . Have been into reefs for a bit. I know you guys and CVRC dont get along much, does that mean members of CVRC cant join/chat here? just wondering.

no, im kidding... but they are jealous of our tanks.

still kidding... they are not jealous of our tanks, but they are averse to our forum.

we play by rc rules, and they wanted to play by their rules... so we stayed, and they left, and sometimes they check in here... and sometimes we check in there...

but they are banned from our ice cream socials.

no they are not, but they have to pay double dues.


(club dues = 1/12 value of your tank X 1/12 the cost of the rc basic membership)(ie, free or free x 2 for cvrc members)
