Asexual/sexual macros

I looked but missed, if there is even one. Is there a list on here of what macro algaes are asexual, sexual, or can change from asexual to sexual?

I'm stocking a 20long that's a display fuge for my 75 reef tank and really don't want something that can easily spread into my 75.

TIA for any info

Most do both:) Depends on the environmental conditions. Some melt real bad when going sexual and then there's no biomass really. This seems to cause some issues for many using fuges and it is mostly with only a few genera. Chateo is good, Caulerpa not so good, but even within the genus, some are good like C. prolifera vs say racemosa. If you maintain stable NO3 and you prune the macros to provide relatively stable biomass, then things work well and there's no issues. If you do boom and bust where you start off with a small amount, then it fills the 40 Gallon sump, then suddenly melts, well.............

obviously it will remove a great deal more NO3 than the tank could supply. But in the middle and the start? It helped. So prune it and things will be okay, do not prune it and it'll lead to a PITA.

Same with never cleaning filters or skimmer cups. Folks can see why they need to be maintained, but often lose sight when it comes to using a plant or algae as a filter.
