Asfur Angelfish

Mine was yanked after picking on my sps... He was small when I got him... 3 inches or so but I've kept him in another system awaiting my fish only... I've had him over a year now and he's grown quickly... He was a must have though... very long streamers for his size, and I also remember 15+ years ago when they commanded interuptus like prices. so I'll always have a sweet spot for them... the queen angel of the Red Sea...

doop sorry my mistake , I wanted to ask what you guys feed your asfur i got one very healthy eats great i feed him mysis shrimp anything else i should feed him? sorry for jumping on this thread

Mysis is good... I've always fed my angels the gel bound Ocean Nutrition cubed foods, including the angel formula (with lots of sponge) and Formula 2 (with lots of vegetable matter). Also Spectrum pellet foods... I've recently started feeding the large pellets (3mm) and like them. I much prefer chunkier foods... instead of those that dissipate in the tank and go straight to excess nutrients...

This is almost exactly what I feed my angels along with the excellent Hikari food line, blood worms, krill, mega marine, ect. I feed PE mysis and have had excellent luck and the fish love it. I also feed nori sheets. I am becoming a real believer in the Spectrum pellets, I have noticed my fish are looking better every day since I have been feeding it and have noticed other people keeping some pretty delicate fish like regal angels, moorish idols, and others (I'm keeping a flagfin, another touchy species), feeding the Spectrum food.

I had an asfur for over four years in a soft reef; leathers, shrooms, GSP, anemones, and he didn't touch anything. He went from about 4 inches to around 7 and was well behaved except with a frag of frogspawn I tried which he happily devoured. I never tried and other stony corals or clams.
