Asking for help moving my new tank

Hi everyone,

My new tank arrives on the 29th. I'd like to move it into the house on Saturday, the 1st. It's a biggy - 375gals. I figure I should have 10 men on hand (no offense meant ladies :) ) to ensure that no problems arise. I've only managed to get 6 guys together, so far...

... so, I'm asking if anyone in the area (Spring Hill, Brooksville, Weeki Wachee) would be willing to help. The move would start about noon. There will be plenty of good food and beer available. I'll be renting 10 suction cups to ease the work. I live north of Hexam - on a lime rock road - thought I ought to mention that. :D

Your help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Darn! Thanks, very much for the offer, but it's all been planned for noon. Very kind of you anyway.:)

Tom i would suggest you make a cart for the tank,we moved a few tanks recently with carts and it makes the job 100x easier.make the carts dimensions to fit the lenght and height.the castors can be purchased for $20 for a set of 4.

You mean like something with a 2"X4" frame covered with ply?

Yes a 2x4 frame with plywood. It really does make it alot easier especially with getting it throught the door.

Billy where did you get the wheels from?i forgot
Tom just build a 2x4 frame, plywood covered with wheels in the corners and you are golden.we moved Billy's tank in 5 minutes with no back strains :)

W Ellis, CMcNeil, brucem - that sounds like a great idea. I'll take a serious look at it. Thanks!!

chris22582 - that's a generous offer, Chris. I'd hate to make you have to drive so far. Tell you what, if I get caught short, I'll give you a blast. Offer very much appreciated.

Tom,

I live in St. Pete, but would be more than willing to make the drive. I would love to see your set up. If you come up short on folks let me know!

I want to, but I have invited people to the Ultimate Garage Sale that day, otherwise I am always glad to help for a size of pizza and a beverage!
