FWIW I dont. It's the wrong kind of skimmer to "wet skim". You have to have the water damn near at the top of the riser. What happens is a lot of water bypasses the bubbles.

i've seen a few where the bubbles don't start until a few inches up main chamber, maybe that from the placement of the pump?
Seems as though thats waisting a bunch of the G3's size, making it not so efficient? Maybe this was users error?

The g3 is a great protien skimmer, don't get me wrong. I just personally didn't like it for what I'm trying to do.
