ASM G2 Collection Cup Question

Anyone have a hard time getting the top off the collection cup? It takes two of us and it's still a struggle. Any suggestions on how to make it easier?

I have the same problem. Glad I am not the only one. At first I used a screw driver through one of the slots but I think that may be a mistake. Now I just rinse it out as best I can without taking the top off.

I am going to receive the same skimmer on Tuesday. I will let you know what the manual states.

Szwalla, there is no manual! Great skimmer but not a lot of instructions come with it. There's one sheet of paper that barely tells you how to set it up.

I have a G3 but its relatively new. Is it just salt creep build up? Binding the pivoting motion for the twist and release? In need of some Lube may help.

Possibly remove the cup and soak in vinegar? Or just time for a new colection cup? Interested in case it occurs with mine.

I had that problem as well
I simply put the lid on now, but dont twist so I can just pull it up to take it off easily.

i have that problem but what i do is use a Gait belt. But i'm sure a large strap wrench sold at sears would work fine as well i just wrap it around hold tight and twist comes right off as it took 2 of us one time!

I took a file and filed down the little "nubs" on the cup and it turns very easy now.

I, too, filed down the nubs until the lid turned easily. It really doesn't serve much purpose for the lid to be locked on, anyway. I guess just not twisting it would have been even simpler.
