I would like to know if you can run these out of the sump? I purchased one for 1.00 and it needs a new pump. I have a Berlin skimmer plumbed out of my sump and would like to replace with this one. I think the ASM 2 will be to high to fit in sump area. Any idea's? Thanks!

you can do the recurculating mod to it and then run it out of the sump.

I read some articles but I still don't understand how this will allow me to keep skimmer outside of sump? Can I get a bigger pump and run a tube from it to intake and then a tube from out let to sump? Thanks for any help! I would love to use this skimmer!!

If you want a g2 to run as an external, you will need to do the recirc mod to get a good air pull, use a separate feed pump to push water to the skimmer, and do the gate valve mod to be able to feed the water back into your sump. all are relatively easy projects, especially for a skimmer you got for $1.

you can find all of these with a little search-fu on RC or just check out the asm skimmer club thread. tons of good info.
