ASM G3 Gate Valve mod & ozone hookup

I would like to do the gate valve mod on my G3 to reduce noise from the output water splashing over the stand pipe. I've also heard it helps with fine tuning the water level for the better skimate output.

I heard there are 3-4 different ways for this mod.

Which one is the best?
Plumbing parts required?

Also... I will be adding ozone down the road. How would I hook this up to the G3?

Thanks
Doug

The g-3 stand pipe is compatable with 1 1/4" pvc fittings, your local plumbing store should have them (you may want to visit a specialty plumbing store, home depot probably won't have what you need.
The actual gate valve mod is easy. you don't need to glue anything, since the AMS is an in sump skimmer. the GV mod really does make adjusting the water hight allot easier, and it does help with noise and micro bubbles. As far as ozone goes, I'm not the personto ask as I have never used it. I know that asm's are not ozone ready, but i'm sure it wouldnt be hard to add a little air line coupling to accomadate it. You would want to make a carbon filter for the air intake, and possibly run the water coming out of the skimmer through carbon. you may also want to ask ASM if their skimmers are ozone safe. I've never heard that they weren't but probably best to make sure.
otherwise goodluck!
