ASM G3 Skimmer Sounds like a Waterfall.

Hi. I am having some problems with my ASM G3 Skimmer. The water coming out of the sponge is sounding really loud, like a waterfall. I took the sponge off yesterday and cleaned and readjusted it. It did fine, but is now making the waterfall sound again.

I am not sure what is causing this. I have tried ajusting the riser. The tank has been going for 2 months and it just started doing this. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!

get a longer sponge, or a gatevalve kit. adding more foam may increase evaporation, but would be cheaper than a gatevalve.

The gate valve mod would be the best fix, but you could also try pulling the foam up past the end of the riser a couple of inches.
