Asm G4 ?

Hello,

I just received my G4, and the pump that came with it is a Sedra 7000 and NOT the Sedra 9000. Is the Sedra 7000 going to be enough. This is a lot bigger than the G3 that I currently have, and I thought I believe that I am running a Sedra 7000 on it.

when I bought a sedra pump awhile back the box said a diff modle then what I got. Make sure you check the pump and not the box.

I just called who I purchased it from. They called All Seas Marine directly who said they don't ship sedra 7000 or 9000 with G4's. I received a Sedra 5000 instead. Now I am extremely confused. Is a Sedra 5000 really going to push a G4? I would say no, but I am not sure.

Any ideas?

thats what it used to always come with now they make them with the sedra 9000 better atleast i would think www.asmskimmer.com sells them as g4plus if u want u can always buy the sedra 9000 pump

So if I just use the 5000 am I going to be regretting it? I might as well send it back and get the 9000 if it isn't going to work efficiently.

The diff in the 5000 and 7000 is the impellar. Since you have a NW impellar, then it is the same since the body is the same. The 5000 is fine for the G4. That is what they all come with.

A little clarification here...

There are 3 skimmers in the G4 series:
G4 - uses a Sedra 5000, 24 inches tall
G4 Plus - uses a Sedra 9000, 24 inches tall
G4x - uses a Sedra 9000, 30 inches tall.

The Sedra 5000 draws 50 watts, the Sedra 9000 draws 90 watts. The Sedra 9000 is nearly twice the pump as the 5000. While the 5000 will work on a G4, the 9000 has proven to perform better.
