I have the opportunity to by a Coralife superskimmer 220 for $150 or an ASM G2 skimmer with upgraded sedra pump for $190... i know the ASM is better quality but the tank will only be about 70gallons including sump and wont be too heavily stocked... any opinions please

Thanks,
Ken

Ok, since it was mentioned already, Octopus! I was not gonna go there, being that the thread was asking advice on the ASM or Coralife only...

If your going ASM then you might as well get the Euro Reef instead for better quality and performance at pretty much the same price.

I have the ASM G2 and have it mod'd for recirc and the gatevalve mod, I have been trying to get the ASM to work for the past couple years...I am giving up on the ASM and will be buying a Octopus recirc model...

Jez thanks scuba4ever you just threw doubt into my purchase hahaha. Yah its just that the ASM is for sale used locally with an upgraded pump its not new or i would be looking at the octopus... holy crap why is the octopus so cheap ?!?!

Look at the Octopus NW 200. Its an 8 inch skimmer. The ASM is a 6 incher. The octo is built better, and only cost sabout 30 bucks more.
