I bought a brain coral off some guy and it looked like it had some green polyps attached...
They are now spreading alot like every 1-2" apart. They are green but they sorta look like Aspasta spelling is off...
Im worried its aspasta.. I thought it was brown but they are growing FAST!...

They or sorta small but light green with small tentacles
I tired getting a picture but I could not get a snap shot

Sounds like it may be majano anemones. Do a google of that. They can be greenish. Just as nasty as Aiptasia to get rid of.

Thanks for the quick replays..

They look like a greenish aiptasia....
They are jummping around the tank...
Wow, this makes me mad.... I just put 3k into this tank and how this..
Last tank bubble algae took over..
What do I do?

neo jeo,

If it is indeed aiptasia, there are a few methods...

Joes Juice
Aiptasia X
Peppermint shrimp eat aiptasia (may not eat larger aiptasia though)

Re: Aspasta??

Copperbands control aiptasia in my tanks. I assume that they will eat majanos but I do not know for sure.

They can be hit or miss though in tema of eating aiptasia. They are also finicky eaters and can be hard to get started.

i may have not seen everything, but i have never seen anything in the aiptasia family of common pests be anything other than clear/tan/pinkish-tan/brown (tube anemones excepted of course)

majanos are deceptively pretty.

you should take a pic...even some hydroids resemble aiptasia.

this is just in the dark guessing at this point.
