I will add, that I too have seen the majority of the offending asterinas being of a darker variety. But as far as it being a conclusive identifying trait, not so much
what till lights out, give the sods time to come out of hiding & then switch lights on & start picking them off. Also during normal lights on, check under rocks, etc and pick them off. The battle can be won, just take persistance.

Definitely a plus 1 on this statement. Whenever I pluck them off of a rock covered in coraline, there is a star shaped bald spot on the rock ... then for the next few days I keep thinking that I see another one in the same spot lol.
