Astraea tecta - Something interesting

Don't know if anyone else has seen this so I thought I would post it. My Astraea went through a growth spurt after eat a couple of patches of coraline. Just thought I would post a pic.

The "tips" growing off of the snail are small vermetid snails. Common LR hitchhicker.

I was referring to the white portion of the shell.
