Ati 6x39w enough

For an SPS tank you are REALLY pushing it. I wouldn't attempt it.

You should be looking at a 6x54w, or even better, the 8x54w Sunpower.

With t5 you'll have a lot of darkness on both ends, they don't throw much light past the ends, horizontally they do but not on each end. The height you would need to hang it at to get good spread would make it not powerful enough.

Like the previous poster stated, 8x54w would be best

The ATI fixtures throw light about 4-6" off each end. it is enough light for low light sps. I ran a 24" fixture over a 36" tank and kept montis and birdsnest on the edges. however my rockwork was about 3" off the glass on both sides.

Im guessing you havent witnessed a ATI fixture? These things throw light like crazy.

Thanks for the replys i am trying to keep running cost down,so still not sure on a 6x54w or 6x39w if i thought i could use a 6x39w or other people have used these on the same size tank then that would be ideal

If i had to pick a different light then my 8 X54 sunpower over a 120, i would get a 3 foot 8 bulb version. It will have enought light for any sps and some low light areas for anything else off to the sides and down low in the tank.

Get the 8x39w sunpower I have a 6x39w on my 48"x27x14 but for a tank that tall (24")go with the 8 bulb
