ATI Blue Plus

Anyone else use this bulb? I have had 3 of 4 just pop so far. One formed a hole in the end, one cracked all the way from the base to the center, and one just stopped lighting.

All other bulbs in the fixtures are working great, they are not getting wet.

I have on that has been in use since about April of this year with no problem. 24".

yeah i forgot to mention these are 36" 39w.

I just switched to this bulb recently and am getting a couple of months out of them

I use 3 of these (54 watt) in my 6-bulb fixture and they have worked fine for over a year now.

maybe your ballast is bad?

well normally i would think so also, But im running two separate ballasts both brand new running on separate circuits and they are blowing on both sides, and only the ATI bulbs...

are there any relays or external capacitors on t-5 ballasts like there are on MH ballasts, or is it all just a self-contained unit? It is really strange, but if it's going on on both sides of the fixture through 2 separate circuits and the whole bit, I'd be inclined to think it's caused by conditions or something. You got these bulbs at separate times?

its all icecap pre-wire t5 with 2 icecap 660 ballasts. 36"

I lost two bulbs within days of each other, and then the other one a few weeks later. the other 6 bulbs have been in there since july and working fine.

What I mean is did you get them all at once? I don't know what could've happened, but maybe it was just a really bad batch of them for some reason?

Yes i did get them all at once, but the vendor doesnt have a high return rate on them yet.

I use three on these in my six bulb sunpower and never any problems. I also used them over my 20 gallon.

I've been using them (54w) with no problems on an ice cap 660
just got new ones in from reef geeks, no problem.
