i asked this question in the filtration forum and no one seemed to want to answer it so ill ask in here. would the ATI bubble master 250 be a good skimmer for a 120 gallon tank loaded with SPS and some LPS and clams mixed in?

I have the 160 BM on my 40 gallon... I think it is more skimmer than I need, but wanted to overskim due to heavy feeding. I think the 250 should suffice, mine is rated for a heavy load 100 gallon...JMO... GL

I have the BM250 and it is a fantastic skimmer. I have about 110 gallons between my display and frag tank and it is way overkill for my needs.

I agree. I had a Bubblemaster 200 on my 120 gallon tank and loved the skimmer. It worked very well. They are a great skimmer.

Have you had any troubles with the pumps? I have a 250 and the pumps are a PITA to restart. I like the performance of it and I think it's capacity is underrated, the main design flaw are the pumps IMO (or maybe I got a lemon?).

nope, what you have is a common problem.

what i did was just blow into the airline tubing and it seemed to fix the problem each and every time.

trim it to 45mm

Thanks, I'll give it a shot. Will this fix the problem, will they start up without help?
