ATI fixtures

Dose anyone know why ATI chose to have the fans blow into their PM fixtures and not out the top? It seems like with heat rising it would work best to exaust out the top.

You can rotate the fan direction if you wish. But I think they work pretty good the way they are.

Because the bulbs need to be cooled at the ends not just all along the bulb. The PM diverts in the most efficent way possible.

Does it use somekind of ducting to divert the air? Also...are there slots in the reflectors so the air actually hits the lamps?
Sorry for all the questions, I'm just trying to do as much research as I can before purchasing my next fixture.

Yes, the air is forced over the ballasts, then onto the lamps "cold spot" via a hole on the end.
