Anyone with experience going from halides to sunpower t5 and coral acclimation?
I know that the sunpower has a very even distribution of high par in comparison to Hamilton pendants like the Cayman Sun that have rather small hot spots and big par drop-offs. Outside that 6 inch hotspot directly under the pendant, the par levels don't exceed 230. I've looked at par maps for the sunpower and overall the levels seem quite high.
On my 75 gallon I'm going to be replacing my 2 x 250w Cayman Sun pendants running phoenix bulbs with an ATI 6 x 54w Sunpower. As of now, I have a few sps frags ranging from a 1/3 to 1/2 way down in depth and a variety of caulastrea coral just above the bottom. Is this a big change or a smooth transition in par levels?
