I attached pics of my Atlantic Blue Tang and his large upper lip. This is the way I bought him and I really never thought anything about it. He's constantly swimming around in the tank and eats like there's no tomorrow. Is this normal from what you can see?

I forgot the name of it, but this is common with Kole Tangs that come from distributors. Maybe the experts will chime in. I had a Kole tang with this a while back and I use API Pimafix and Melafix in conjunction and soaked food in Selcon and it was back to normal in about a week.

I did research on those two medicines and read a lot of bad stuff about it like all the fish in a tank dying and what not. I'm hesitant to try it.

I've used Pimafix and Melafix to stop a fungal/bacterial(not sure what it was, i was guessing fungal) infection, but I only did it in a QT, can't speak to a whole tank.. but if all you have is Live rock and fish I see no problem with it, other than it might not cure it. I think it took a few days to clear up if I remember right.. maybe it was a week.

It's basically just a bunch of plant juice that naturally have antibacterial/antifungal properties... and it stinks.
