Atlantic Blue Tang

A question for all of the tang experts. A family member has an atlantic blue tang that they want to give to us that has been in their dt for a couple months. They are breaking down that tank. My question is do we still qt the tang before putting it in our dt tank or can we just put it in our dt tank since its been in another dt tank. The tank he will be going in has , angels, clowns , firefish and other small fish. Thanks for your help.

Ok thanks, so there is a chance that Ich can still come out even though it was originally QT before being put into the original DT?

If you quarantine properly, and your current tank is ich free, there is no problem.

Steve, it sounds like you are saying if the OP QT the new Atlantic Blue Tang that he gets from his family member and THEN puts it in his DT, than there will be no problem and his DT won't get ICH.

But the OP cannot rely upon the original quarantine by his family member and avoid doing a quarantine himself. If he does this, then there is a chance that the OP's DT will get ICH. Am I understanding you correctly?

He was saying if the OP qts the new tang and normally qts properly there is no chance ich will be introduced.
