i've dealt a lot with Gary - i personally like him. some of his prices are good, some aren't. he's a no BS kind of guy so most people don't get along with him right off the bat. can't hurt to talk to him, see what his price is, then ask around...

I was a good friend of Gary, until you find out the kind of guy he really is. He has constantly trashed PMAS, and it was one of the reasons that I just became a member. I havent seen any of the regular customers he has at the meetings, so he is still the same ol Gary.
Doent have prices displayed. Will run you over if there is a bigger sale to be made. And slams anyone who comes in that he doesnt know. The stuff I listened to was filthy, and I was in the Navy.
He used my lights, pumps and I plumbed the frag tank he used at MACNA, and not even a thank you. He slammed the heck out of Dr.Mac, PFO and anyone else he didnt carry.
But hey, give him a shot

I've stopped in a few times only because it is less than 10 mins from my apt. and have only bought 1 item from him, salt when I was out. I have asked prices on a few items and had him walk away to check and not come back. I've had him basically reprimand me for not knowing things, and as said just leave to do a bigger sale. I will never support him again. His tanks were always nice to look at, but it's not worth the hassle.

Gary is the kind of store owner that is in it just to make money ( I know the whole point of a store is to make money) and thats fine. But his eyes will glaze over if you talk about other products out there that he doesnt sell. Or, most of the times, he will slam a product just because he doesnt sell it.
Ive had him slam Royal Exclusiv (bubbleking and red dragon) for no reason.
I really dont think he cares too much about his store, I told him multiple times, if he cleans it up; he would get more bussines. His money is made in servicing tanks, and I did help him out on several trips. Nothing big or techincal, just moorons that have way too much money and not enough motivation to take care of their tank.
I even offererd to help him get his website updated for a very small fee (like a free frag or two) and he passed it up to have a friend of a customer do the website, so long story short.... website is still waiting to be updated.
Im sure others will chime in as well.
