You know the old Atlantis had this really super knowledgable older guy that all the ladies were attracted to. His bald head and beer gut was the real lady magnet. He was so fish savy Triton used to call for advice. He was the grooviest!!!!:bum:

Just got a nice frag of Hydnophora from atlantis...very happy. I went everywhere today to find some sps that was not brown or purple. They had a good color selection

I do not want to start anything with RC here but I was told from other members that sea devil was banned from RC for this post. I understand RC rules but I think the mods went too far.
First of all I want to make sure I have my facts correct and I am not acting on hearsay. Was the member in question banned from RC for this post? (This is a question to the RC mod/staff). If so I do not think that was the proper action.
I myself do not have time to visit local retail stores because of work. I drive about 100 miles a day on the job and when I go home from work I do not want to spend my free time driving around from LFS to LFS to find what I want. Having the retailers on RC helps me out a lot because I can ask questions without picking up a phone or driving to the store itself. Now there were no prices mentioned in sea devils post, nor was he trying to con me in to shop at his store. I have also received similar complaints for this action from other members on RC who visit this forum such as "he was helpful in our threads as far as I could tell".
To the RC mod that removed sea devil, please understand my busy work schedule and realize that having LFS reply to our questions really is a benefit to our forum here. I also was about to become a supporting member, but not having access to my LFS on RC does not make it worth it.
Again please do not take this post out of context, I am not angry at RC I am merely asking a question. RC has been great to me, and If a moderator could answer my questions and explain to me why this happened I would appreciate it.

The mods, while strict to the user agreement do give you several chances. I've been an RC member for almost 5 years, and a business owner for almost three. It's a constant learning curve to determine what crosses the "commercial post" boundary. I've been warned several times, by at least 4 or 5 moderators.
The best thing to do is not get excited about a mod's PM, and just take their advice, and not screw it up again. Reef Central is a privately owned site, that's the bottom line.
Stuff I have been called on:
Posting pictures after I owned a business
Saying, "We've got some at the store"
Directing someone to their LFS to look at a tank.
Discussing certain products.
Stuff that seems benign wouldn't seem that way if every business owner did it.
Also, I've never heard of RC staff banning someone for a first offense, ie, no "You used your one chance, yer outta here".
If you need store-specific stuff, PM or email the person. To ask in the open forums will just get someone in trouble if they answer, and you'll think they are being rude if they do not answer in the forum.
