atman ph 25000 mesh mod

Hi, i have a Bubble Magus BM105 protein skimmer. Iam trying to add a new needle wheel mesh mod to my skimmer,that i purchased on line that is made for the atman ph 2500. The problem is that iam having problems taking out the old needle wheel out of the plastic impeller or at the base of the magnet . It rotates clockwise and counter- clockwise,but the needle wheel doesnt pop out. Does any one know how to take out the needle wheel impeller without damaging it?
