ATO chamber in sump

I am building a 40b tank with sump and wondered if anyone ever puts in a baffle and makes a 3 or so gallon top off in the sump? Any cons to this other than lost sump room?

In my experience 3 gal will only get you 2-3 days of ATO regardless of the size of the DT.

my 120g with 45g sump evaps 1-2 gal per day. My 20g QT in the same room evaps 1 gal per day.

I will say that my house humidity runs around 40-50% most of the time. AC in the summer sucks out the humidity.... dry air and furnace in the winter sucks out the humidity...
