ATO for Multiple tanks

A word of caution with gravity feed solenoids. They don't close with a very high pressure, so any bit of grit can cause them not to seal properly. This can be disastrous, I learned the hard way. In order to prevent this I run my top of water thru a 5 micron pleated filter before it gets to the solenoids. I also run two solenoids in series on each line, as the likelihood of both solenoids becoming obstructed is very low. And the added cost of an extra solenoid is so small in comparison to even one zoa polyp.

Another fail safe, if space permits, is to use a float valve in the sup hooked to your line. You should theoretically never need it, but well it seems if it can happen it will when it comes to an aquarium system.

With a high enough powered distribution pump you can distribute top of water to tanks on multiple levels in your house. I used to send top off water to my freshwater tanks two floors up from my water room, and also water across the basement ceiling to the saltwater set ups, using a large peristaltic pump and a group of solenoids.

A pleated micron filter is also great to use on your new salt water if you use one of the brands of salt that tends to produce gunk.
