ATO for sumpless tank

hey guys and gals looking for an ATO for my rimless 45 gal. it does not have a sump. I will be adding a overflow but just to make a compartment for my tunze skimmer heater and fluval intake. i want an ATO so i can take this glass top off. I was looking at the tunze nano ATO or the reg tunze ATO. will these work in a display? soon to be in the back compartment of my DIY AIO tank kinda thing im going to add lol.

any ideas guys? im going topless now and need something quick im thinking lol gonna order tonight if i can get some ideas.

An ATO needs to monitor the water level somehow ( usually in the sump return area)

If you have no sump, or return area, how can it monitor your system to know when to fill and to stop

Your RO water is stored separately, the problem I believe is how does it know when to top off

Maybe put the sensors in the corner of the display tank in the back? Not sure , just throwing ideas out their

sorry i mean im going to put the sensor in the display im looking for the nest unit to do that with. i want one that has a nice protection from snails, or one without a float valve. but those seem expensive.

I use the tunze 3155 in my display. Also running sumpless. Pretty small and unobtrusive.

i ordered the reg tunze ATO not the nano. it will be here tomorrow ill let everyone know!! i only saw complaints about the tunze nano ATO when people had it in the display. its sump or AIO tank only.
