Hi Christopher,
I think I just replied to your email on this too- but here's a duplicate answer.
This pic shows one of our very first sensors (about 4 years old) installed on a 29 gal (pardon the salt creep; it's set and forget). Small waves in the tank generated by a stream pump don't affect the sensor. This one is hidden by a canopy, but you can cut the sensor tube down to make it less obtrusive if it would be visible.
