ATO Pumps

I am looking for a pump for my JBJ ATO that has the ability to be hard plumbed. I lose about 2 gallons a day with my dehumidifier on. i did some math and figured i need a pump that does about 150 gallons per hour to replace ~2 gallons in one minute. I am putting the pump on a digital timer that works in one minute increments to make sure i dont have a disaster if the floats on the ATO for some reason dont shut the pump off. That way it will only add what the pump can pump in one minute no matter what. Does anyone know of or have a pump like this?

Thanks.

I don't know the answer to your pump question. I just use a little mini-jet (404 or 606, can't remember)

However, on the other thing you said. The ATO should kick off after I think 30 seconds. (I think it's a built in feature)

I have the ATO and have had no problems with it and it kicks off if it runs for 30 seconds.

It kicks off after 30 seconds? what if needs to run for say 3 minutes to get the top sensor to float? does it run for 30 seconds shutoff for a while then run again, and over and over?

The JBJ ATO comes with 2 floats to prevent what you are describing. You could hook them both up to make them work.

Yes i have it configured with a bottom limit (turn on) and a top (shut off) but when i tested it with a lamp plugged into it instead of a pump, the power to the light would stay on for a few seconds after the top float was submerged and should have shut off. I am putting it on a timer as a back up. The pump will probably pump more water than i need in a minute, so in theory the float would shut it off before the timer, but if the ATO fails i dont want to flood my basement.

I use a Maxijet 1200 on my system, my total system is 250 gallons or so, if my pump stays on for whatever reason I have 2 basement fail safes. With a MJ1200 it does not pump out that much water if it does not shut off right away.

1. I have an emergency overflow in my sump that will take water right to my floor drain.

2. I do not have alot of water I top off with, I keep maybe 15 gallons at anyone time.

The emergency overflow for your sump sounds like a great idea. Did you build one or use the type of overflow meant for non-RR tanks. I might look into doing something like this.

Thanks for the idea.

I recently added a JBJ ATO to my setup and can't believe I waited so long....automation is great.

No my sump is acrylic, so I drilled it, but in a bulkhead and then plumbed it with the rest of my plumbing to the floor.
