ATO question

How often does your ATO run during the day? I'm just curious because the other day I was watching TV and the tank is near it, and for the few hours I was sitting there I could hear the ATO kick on few times. I've been filling the container every 5-6 days.

Yeah, it surprised me that the water evaporates so quickly. But, it looks like the norm for the ATO to turn on every half hour or so.
When I first set the ATO up I noticed that after it turned off it would continue to siphon water from the container into the sump so I had to raise the tubing up to break the siphon. But in doing that it would sound like someone peeing into the sump when it turned on. I since fixed that, so now it's nice and quite.

my ATO runs every hour, BUT my compartment I am topping off only holds 2 gallons of water. it puts a splash of water in each time. I have a 3 gallon top off container to hold my RO, I fill it when it hits half full about once per week.

This is with out a doubt one of the few great advantages of having a nano tank :)

The time between cycles is dependent on a few things
#1-Evaporation rate which changes with ambient humidity level/flow/temp,etc...
#2-The size of the section where you have the ATO (effects how fast the water level changes)
#3-The type of float/level indicator..
#4-any "minimum" timer if you have a controller
