I was in ATR today and Skip told me that they are having a fragging class on the 29th of July... He said he was going to be doing some cool stuff with some new and different cuttings and mounting techniques. I am stoked, finally going to get to watch the fragmaster in live action!!! He also said if they get a good turn out that he might considering doing a class once a month and also running some in store specials for anyone who comes to the class... do any of the other local stores do this???

Have a great day everyone!!

I'll sure try to make it.

It's hard to plan in advance cause my job dos'nt give very good notice before shipping me out of town.

Ok, I called The FRAG Master himself (Skip) He says to watch your emails if you are register to get ABOUT THE REEF email. Looks like the class will be between 1-3pm on Sunday the 29th. And there will definetly be some in-store specials for class attendees only!!!!

How do you sign up for the ATR email? I am on the website right now and dont see anything about a mailing list or newsleter on the contact me section. If not there where?

You can sign up for the mailing list inside of the store, just ask one of the employees if you can't find it.

From Tuesday's email:

About The Reef will be holding a coral propagation class at the store on

SUNDAY, July 29th from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm.

Come by and learn some new techniques (or pick up a few frags!)

Sorry, I got nothing
you don't need anything, just go!! I am just on ATR's mailing list, so I knew about it

It is actually a Halomitra, multi-mouthed plate coral. I picked this one because after fragmentation each frag should have at least one mouth, making feeding and recovery easier. I plan on fragging at least 5-6 corals of different types from the store and will likely be able to fragment a few extra corals along the way.

I have already had one person ask about bringing down their coral to be fragged at the event and will be happy to do so for anyone provided it is nothing too intensive and arranged with me beforehand. I would hate to have corals pulled from their homes and dragged through the summertime heat for no reason if I cannot get to them within time constraints.

If you would like to bring down your own coral to be fragged please contact me at skip@aboutthereef.com with a brief coral description, size, and the desired results and I will see what I can do. (Jennifer, one spot is already reserved for your Fox coral.) If you do not recieve ATR's emails you can also request to be added by contacting me.
