Attaching a 9010 to the rails?

Try as I might, I can't figure out how to attach my 9010 to the rails. I appreciate the flexibility with this kit, and it was fairly easy to attach the rails to my tank (standard tank, "vertical pane" mount).

But now I'm stymied, can't figure out how to attach the "Comline elements" to the body of the skimmer.

Any help would be most appreciated.

BTW, the English translation of the original German instructions is terrible. Tunze really should get an English speaker to vet their
translations. The French version is much better, but even following that, I couldn't figure it out

Well, once I ignored the instruction manual, and played with the pieces, it was pretty obvious how to attach the rails to the body of the skimmer.

Now I'm trying to attach the rails to the tank. It seemed easy, but isn't. I thought I had done that part properly, but hadn't.

Tunze's instruction manual is terrible. They already have individual part numbers for each item, so why not use those part numbers in the descriptions and diagrams? But no, they re-number everything starting from 1, and then you have to match up the pictures (which are way too small) with the part, and many of the parts are very similar.

This is my first experience with a Tunze product, and I know their build quality and customer support are great. But this will probably also be my LAST experience with a Tunze product.
