I have a tabling red planet about 6" + across and I want to attach it to a rock. What do you use for bonding it to the rock? I was thinking supper glue but I don't know if it will strong enough.
I use three little fishie putty. I would make a base for it underwater using the putty/super glue combo and let it harden before mounting the colony with more putty.
Working time about 10 minutes, set time about 30 minutes. If you are planning on attaching to the side of a rock, you will need to support it until it sets.
And don't figure you can just hold it there... it takes way longer than you want to stand there holding it. Don't ask how I know, just trust me on this!
As long as you are there, pick up a bottle of Gorilla Glue Gel Super Glue.
Maybe more money than the dollar store tubes of super glue gel, but I find it thicker, and the bottle doesn't clog after one use! So in the long run... cheaper.
Not if its a heavy colony of a table acro mounted to the side of a rock or overflow. You will need the epoxy to set or the colony will not stay as placed.
A frag on top of a rock, or in a hole/crevice, then yes 30 seconds will do.
