Attaching toadstool

So I picked up a frag of a neon green toadstool the other week. Currently on my sand bed not looking that happy. I have an idea where I want to put it, but not sure how to do it. Currently it's zip-tied to the plug. Should I leave it like that and glue the plug? Or cut it toe, and glue the coral directly to the rock? First softie like this for me and honestly that zip tie threw me off. Thanks in advance.

it's almost impossible to glue mushrooms because they slime so much when handled and the glue just doesn't stick. i have always just used a rubber band to attach it to a small piece of rock that can be moved around.

give it time to attach to the plug and then you can cut the zip tie off.

Cool, good to know thanks! How long does it usually take to attach/how can I tell it is attached?

it won't take long, probably just a few days. i'd leave it alone for a week and then very gently remove the zip tie.

you're very welcome. if, by chance, it hasn't attached when you remove the zip tie, i would try using a rubber band instead. seems a zip tie would be a bit irritating!
