Attack of the CUC!!

Finally got the rest of my CUC into the DT today. Already had 2 emerald crabs, a few blue leg hermits and some hitchikers from my live rock. Today I put in 10 nassarius vibex, 2 limpets, 5 large Florida ceriths, 4 nerites, and I had ordered like 7 dwarf ceriths but reefcleaners sent me about 100!! And now they are plastered to the entire front of my tank.

Does everyone experience this when the snails are first put into the tank? They eventually relax and spend more time on the floor of the tank?

I've got the same critters for my set-up. Here is how mine are:

Nassarius' - will burry into the sand, until there is food in the tank then they will emerge and go looking for the scraps.
Large Ceriths - tend to stay in the sand partially submerged and sometimes venture onto the rocks.
Nerites - stay on the glass mostly up near the surface, though at times you will find them on your rocks
Dwarf Ceriths - partially burrow in the sand as well, and will emerge and move to the rocks and glass shortly before your lights out time.

They all tend to be more active just before lights out.

The very first thing the Nassarius did when they landed on the gravel/sand was dig in, then my arm-less brittle star sat on one for like an hour lol.

The large Cerith's were pretty slow to start moving but one climbed up the PVC opening then fell off, the others have slowly started moving around

The Nerites are still in a big ball attached to each other as they were in the bag lol

the Dwarfs took off like race cars, from one side to the next, and all the way up the glass then snailed around the perimeter of the glass

The limpets are pretty much just sitting there lol

I set my lights to "sunset" about an hour ago and will be going to "moonlight" soon

Hopefully none of them climb into the overflow box :uhoh3:

oh ok, I'll check that out. At least if they do venture into the overflow and sucked through the utube I can either just pull them out or if they go down the tubing they'll just end up on the filter over the bioballs in the sump lol. Guess I'll check that filter tomorrow to survey any damages

I have zebra snails and some brown Mexico ones...

The zebras sleep on the glass during the day and go wild at night.

The brown one has never left the live rocks lol.
