The babies will be ready to go to their new homes on March 16!!! So start preparing your tanks. I have been feeding them 100% Cyclopeez for the morning feedings and 50/50 BBS/Cyclopeez for the afternoon and evening feedings. They did such a good job eating this morning I will start today with only giving them BBS for the afternoon feeding and I should have them on 100% Cyclopeez for all feedings in about 5 days. Keep in mind these fish are still very small, so you don't want to put them in a tank with even a medium size fish.

The best time to pick them up will be the week of March 16th, during the day. I may be able to take a few evening pick ups but my daughter is on a swim team and practices 3xs/week in the evenings. I would like everyone to come and pick your fish up, instead of me driving all over the place to deliver them. Please bring your own container to put the fish in (doesn't have to be big, remember they are small). Send me a pm to make arrangements

If anyone backs out I would like a couple, a few months ago I got a Nano DX and have yet to set it up. With them being so small I think they would be perfect for it.

How small are they? 1/4", 3/8", 1/2"? Just out of curiosity.

I'd love to have one from a future hatch in my 30 but the current is swift.

They are 1" long from nose to end of tail. If you just measure the body of the fish they are 1/2 long, so they are still pretty small, but they are 13 weeks old so they are old enough to leave the nest.

I will start a "back-up" list for those who would like one if someone backs out. I actually have 16 bangaii, but I may keep one, so I'll let you know if one becomes available after the original list has taken their babies home.

As far as future fry, it might be a while. My male has yet to carry any more eggs but I can get them started again by giving them some live food. However, I'm starting back to school next week and I'm just not going to have the time to raise another batch. But I will again in the future. Now that I know what I'm doing I hope to have a lot more survive.

Great News!!!

I tried feeding the babies some mysis shrimp last night and they went crazy for it! :crazy1: I thought I was going to have an issue though. I thought I chopped up the mysis shrimp small enough, but soon noticed they were pretty large pieces compared to our little fries. Some could not even shut their mouths, but they would not spit it out to save their lives. I was worried they might choke on it, but they soon got it down and had fat bellies aftwards. :lol: I was relieved though to see all 16 babies doing well this morning. I will give them Mysis shrimp again tonight, but I will smoosh it up good, so not to have another scare like that. BUT, looks like you parents will have two options for your little Bangaiis, Cyclopeez and Mysis. And I will provide each parent with a small chunk of Cyclopeez if you don't have any.

I've only received a pm from one parent, so be sure to get in contact with me this week, so we can make arrangements. You have the week of the 16th to pick them up. Whatever is left at the end of that week I will move to the backup list of people who want them.

hey horsegal.... im out of town untill march 12th... at the shuttle launch.... will it be ok with my YWG and sixline wrasse>? if not i can throw him in my fuge till my 65 is ready next week

hey im back from the launch!!! haha it was so sweeeeet! im gonna tackle the 65 gallon this week, it should be up and running full of live rock from pauls by next week

No one has come by yet to pick up the babies, but I just talked with Jeff and he may be by later this afternoon. The babies are anxiously awaiting though. What time are you coming by?
